GREAT JOB to the new paddlers who participated in our mock race with the Killer Guppies (we put up a good fight!)
LONG BEACH LOCAL RACE IS NEXT SUNDAY --- please be at Marine Stadium at 8:30A for set up --- our first race is at 9:55A --- more details will be sent out on the LB Local Race Evite.

REMINDER that recruiting event is at The Aerospace Corporation THIS THURSDAY 5/11 from 11A-1P.
LAND TRAINING --- Coach says work your reps to 3 sets of 50 at 4X/week. Keep STRETCHING. . . ADD ROTATION DRILLS (3 X10 windmills - full body twist looking up at your hand when you twist . . .)
PRACTICE WED/SAT/SUN --- PLEASE RSVP for THIS WED/SAT practice, make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 6:00PM WED and/or 9:30AM SAT for warm-up.
HAWAII DRAGONBOAT FESTIVAL HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to high bacteria levels in the water at Ala Moana.
SAVE THE DATES FOR SAN FRANCISCO DB FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 23 & 24.
DR. CHEN STILL WANTS TO SEND OUR TEAM TO CHINA IN OCTOBER --- if China trip falls through, we will go to HOUSTON on OCT 21 & 22 for the Gulf Coast Regatta.(http://www.texasdragonboat.com).
REMEMBER in case of rain/sewage spill or other extenuating circumstance, find out status of practice by calling my cell phone at (310) 749-3592 after 8:00 AM on day of practice for a recorded message . . .
EAT YO'SELF SOMETHIN' in the morning before you come to practice (think bananas, energy bars, carbs/protein, etc..). Your body needs food to produce energy to paddle. We don't want you to get sick while out on the water. Also, bring water or Gatorade to hydrate yourself while paddling.
