UPDATE 10/6 - Hi All ---
As of today (10/6) at 6AM, Mother's Beach is still closed although the bacteria counts are down at the North end of the beach. They think they have found the source of the problem and feel the beach should be open in a few days (unsure what "a few days" means). Mike spoke to the Health department at 4PM today and the counts are still high.
I'd still like to meet at Mother's SAT morning to go to breakfast or coffee --- we can just touch base and at least go over details for Houston and give out medals for San Francisco.
SUN practice is CANCELLED. That leaves us only next weekend to practice as a team for Houston - please keep up with your land training - make sure you concentrate on ENDURANCE the next weeks to prepare for the 1000m race.
HOUSTON folks --- I've only gotten travel info from the Edison crew and 2 AeroDragons --- please send me your travel details (when you'll be in Houston, when you're leaving, where you're staying, etc.) as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance!

AeroDragons ---
We have a break from practice this weekend 9/30 & 10/1. That leaves us with 2 weekends left in which to practice for HOUSTON 10/21 & 10/22. Please try to make both days BOTH weekends--- we need to get ready for that 1000 meter race!
CONGRATS TO THE SFO CREW for taking 1st Place in Rec Division A! More details and pics to come - (Please send me your favorite pics to post on the website!
UPDATE on the ICF World Championships here in Kaohsiung Taiwan --- USA Women took 3rd Place and USA Masters Mixed took 2nd Place in the 1000m - we have 10-man 250m & 500m races today (SAT)!
PRACTICE SAT/SUN --- PLEASE RSVP for SAT/SUN practice, make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 9:30AM SAT or 8:30AM SUN for warm-up.
LAND TRAINING --- Make sure you are doing 50 each sit-ups, push-ups and squats --- 3X/week!
REMEMBER in case of rain/sewage spill or other extenuating circumstance, find out status of practice by calling my cell phone at (310) 749-3592 after 8:00 AM on day of practice for a recorded message . . .
EAT SOMETHIN' in the morning before you come to practice (think bananas, energy bars, carbs/protein, etc..). Your body needs food to produce energy to paddle. We don't want you to get sick while out on the water. Also, bring water or Gatorade to hydrate yourself while paddling.
Have a great weekend & wek and see you on the water!!
