CONGRATULATIONS HOUSTON CREW ON SWEEPING the 3rd Annual Houston Dragon Boat October Regatta! (see picture)
THANKS AERODRAGONS for a great 2006 season --- we ended up medaling in each of the races in which we participated this year:
LAS VEGAS - 1ST/500M
LONG BEACH LOCAL RACES - 1ST/250M, 2ND/500M
LONG BEACH DB FESTIVAL - 4TH/250M, 4TH/WOMEN/500M, 8TH/REC B
SAN FRANCSICO DB FESTIVAL - 1ST/REC A
HOUSTON OCTOBER REGATTA - 1ST/250M, 1ST/500M, 1ST/1000M
NOT BAD for a team that's only 3 years old . . . looking forward to another great season in 2007!
ONLY 3 PEOPLE signed up for the Naples Boat Parade so far - we'll need at least 16 to participate - please RSVP to the Naples Evite (even if you AREN"T going) so we can plan accordingly.
SAVE THE DATES! The Long Beach Local Races will be SUN APR 29th. The Viewsonic Long Beach DB Festival will be SAT/SUN JUL 28th & 29th.
SAT ONLY practices this off season starting this weekend. SUN practices will start up again in February.
VOTING for 2007 race schedule are still in process --- please complete the survey if you haven't already!
PRACTICE SAT ONLY --- PLEASE RSVP for SAT practice, make sure you arrive PROMPTLY at 9:30AM SAT for warm-up.
DON'T PARK ON APPIAN WAY - use the Boy Scout parking south of the 2nd St. bridge, or the metered parking.
REMEMBER in case of rain/sewage spill or other extenuating circumstance, find out status of practice by calling my cell phone at (310) 749-3592 after 8:00 AM on day of practice for a recorded message . . .
EAT SOMETHIN' in the morning before you come to practice (think bananas, energy bars, carbs/protein, etc..). Your body needs food to produce energy to paddle. We don't want you to get sick while out on the water. Also, bring water or Gatorade to hydrate yourself while paddling.
